Artist

A collection of works exploring the shallow waters of the low tide, and what they leave behind. Through this project I am thinking about ways of representing and ways of looking, muscular memory and gesture in painting, transparency, texture, and flow.

A collaboration with photographer and friend James Bridgman.  Taking turns in responding to each other's works, we will be producing twelve pieces over the course of a year:  six photographs and six paintings or mixed-media pieces, forming an unpredictable chain.

Working from quick in situ sketches and from memory, this collection meanders through the forest, eyes down onto the soil and straight through the verticality of the trees trunks.  This project started in 2022 and is still growing and evolving.
